“Stop breaking into people’s house in the middle of the night like armed robbers” – Stan Alieke to EFCC
Prominent Nigerian lawyer Stan Alieke has criticized the officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for their recent actions of forcibly entering residences during the night while armed.
It was reported yesterday that individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud opened fire on the operatives of the anti-corruption agency, resulting in the death of one of its members in Anambra State, located in Nigeria’s southeastern region.
In a post on his Instastory early this morning, Alieke condemned the EFCC for exceeding the bounds of their authority. He denounced their nighttime raids on private homes, likening their methods to those of armed robbers.
Furthermore, he emphasized the urgent need for the agency to cease its lawless conduct.
Stan Alieke wrote on his Instastory:
“EFCC is really overdoing it. You can’t continue breaking into people’s houses at the middle of the night with weapons like armed robbers. This lawlessness and anyhowness needs to stop. @officialefcc.”
