Farooq Oreagba on cancer diagnosis

Speaking about his bone cancer, Farooq Oreaga stated that he was diagnosed in 2014, and had a bone marrow transplant the same year. He discussed his impact on cancer charity and also counselling others with other forms of cancer diagnosis.

“People ask me why I as so happy despite having an incurable bone cancer. I tell them, ‘I am alive and as long as you’re in the game, you can win the game. Everyday is a blessing,” he said partly.

The cancer survivor highlighted how friends deserted him after his diagnosis; leaving him with fewer than 100 from having millions.

“My friends reduced from five million to one million when I left the Nigerian exchange and from one million to a hundred when I was diagnosed with cancer,” he added.
