Barcelona midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan has thanked departing manager, Xavi for bringing him to Camp Nou.

It has been decided by the club that Xavi will not remain in the position as manager next season and the Catalan was relieved of his duty on Friday.

Gundogan joined Barcelona from Manchester City last summer and is grateful to the former midfielder for bringing him to Spain.

He penned a heartfelt message to Xavi as he prepares to leave the club.

The legend was sacked following a reported disagreement with the management.

Gundogan, with his experience, has been an important player for La Blaugrana, playing a central role for the side.
