EPL: He has experience – Tim Sherwood advises Chelsea on striker to sign

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Tim Sherwood has advised Chelsea to consider Brentford striker, Ivan Toney as their next signing in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Although Chelsea has been linked with several strikers such as Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Sherwood believes the addition of the 27-year-old England attacker would be a sensible choice for the Blues.

In his interview with Premier League Productions, Sherwood emphasized the need for Chelsea to invest in experienced players like Toney, who has a proven track record in scoring goals in the Premier League, instead of taking further risks in the transfer market.

“This would be a sensible signing if they would take Ivan Toney,” Sherwood said.

“They have taken players who are a little bit younger than Ivan, but they haven’t had any experience of the Premier League. They can’t have any more risks in the transfer market. They need to get sure things.

“That is the nearest thing to a sure thing you are ever going to find. He has experience of scoring goals in the Premier League.

“If he was at Chelsea, then he would be prolific.”
