Niger Gov orders political appointees to return to their local councils for elections

Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has directed all political appointees to proceed to their respective local government areas to fully and actively participate in the Local Government Council polls.

The election is fixed for Thursday, 10th November 2022.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane stated this in a statement in Minna.

The SSG also directed Local Government Council chairmen to ensure effective compliance with the directive by making sure that political appointees in their areas participate in tomorrow’s local government elections.

The statement explained:” It is a great honour for us as Nigerlites to exercise our franchise by coming out en masse to vote and select our leaders at the Local Government level.”
