OMG!!! Kingmaker Chief Ogunbambi Slams N500M Suit On Oniru Family

A kingmaker in the Oniru kingdom of Lagos State, Chief Wasiu Ogunbambi, has slammed a N500m fundamental rights suit on three children of the immediate-past Oniru of Iru land.

The three princes are Tijani Oniru, Ademola Oniru, Adesegun Oniru.

Ogunbambi, who is the Onisa of Iru land, in the suit filed before the Federal High Court in Lagos, claimed that the princes harrassed him with police after he declined to support one of the late Oniru’s children to succeed their father on the throne.

Ogunbambi sued the princes alongside their cousin, Sulaiman Oniru and the Inspector-General of Police

Stating how the event happened, Ogunbambi alleged that over 15 armed policemen from Abuja, at the instance of the late Oniru’s children, invaded his house on August 22.

He noted that his house was disorganised at gunpoint.

He said the police later stormed Lateef’s bar/carwash at House 21 Resettlement, Victoria Island, and arrested him.

The kingmaker added that his children Mukaila, Lateef, and seven customers were also arrested and treated like common criminals in the full glare of the public.

He said the policemen

“packed them into a small bus and drove them for over 10 hours on the road to Abuja.”

He noted that they were detained in Abuja between three and eight days for unjust reasons.

Ogumbambi,however, demanded N500 million as damages.
