Shocker! See the Moment a Protesting Goalkeeper Purposely Allowed Opponents to Score 3 Goals (Video)

A video has shown the moment a Vietnamese goalkeeper who deliberately let in three goals as his team-mates stood still after a dodgy penalty award has been banned for two years.

The bizarre moment happened in the V-League as Ho Chi Minh won 5-2 over Long An – during which the referee gave away a controversial late spot-kick.

The Vietnamese Football Federation have banned keeper Nguyen Minh Nhut, captain Quang Thanh and also suspended coach Ngo Quang Sang for three years.

Club chairman Vo Thanh Nhiem also quit after the game after their team reacted furiously to the referee awarding a penalty.

After Long An’s players expressed their disagreement with the ref – which led to some collapsing to the floor in anger – they no longer wanted to play.

The penalty was given at 2-2 and the protest began instantly and after the goalkeeper was eventually ushered to his line he turned his back on ball.

And as the striker scored and the ball went back for kick off, Long An players allowed the striker to run through on goal without even moving.

This time, instead of turning his back, the keeper strangely did a forward roll to gift the striker and open goal.

And with most of the men in white stood by the pitch near the dug outs, the striker notched a fifth with the keeper walking out of his area.

In a statement, the VFF said that Mimh Nhut and captain Huynh Quang Thanh would be banned for 24 months “due to disrupting the match”.

They were also adjudged to have “disrespected the decision of the referee and caused damage to the reputation and honour of the Vietnam Football Federation”.
