US Election: The people of America have spoken – Trump’s running mate, Pence

Donald Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, has spoken for the first time, since his principal was confirmed as the next president of the USA.

He said: “this is a historic night. The American people have spoken, and the American people have elected their new champion. America has elected a new president. It’s almost hard for me to express, the honor that I and my family feel… [to be] vice president of the United States of America,”

Pence also thanked his family and added that he’s “deeply grateful to the American people for placing their confidence in this team… and I’m mostly grateful to the president elect, whose leadership and vision will make America great again.”


The 57-year-old Pence is the 50th Governor of Indiana, who was first elected to the House Of Representatives in 2000.

He will now become the next vice-president of the country.
