Starboy Entertainment boss Wizkid
has repeatedly abused the love his adamant fans has for him.
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun known professionally as Wizkid started recording music at the age of 11. He signed a record deal with Banky W
's Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in 2009. Wizkid rose to prominence in 2010 with the release of the song "Holla at Your Boy
" from his debut studio album Superstar (2011)
Wizkid stuck with EME till the expiration of his contract before establishing his label imprint Starboy Entertainment
in March 2013.
In 2017 after gaining international recognition in Drake's 2016 single 'One Dance
', Wizkid dished out his third studio album dubbed "Sounds From The Side
". SFTOS was supported by five singles: "Daddy Yo", "Sweet Love", "Come Closer", "African Bad Gyal" and "Naughty Ride".
Starboy Wizkid has bagged several awards including the most recent Songwriter's awards at the just concluded Soul Train Music awards. His 2019 singles "Joro" and "Ghetto Love" was heavily bad-washed by music critics, bloggers and radio OAPs. He was criticized for performing songs with little or no lyrical contents.
Despite how true that sounds, his fans 'the Wizkid FC
' as they are fondly called has been loyal to him. They've praised his craftsmanship and kept streaming his songs to top almost all music streaming platforms including YouTube.
Starboy has failed to respect the undying love shown to him by his fans. He has failed to release his "Made in Lagos
" album after promising to drop the album in 2018. Few weeks ago, Wizkid assured his fans that the highly anticipated album will be out on or before October 21st 2019 all to no avail. He even went on to make jests on twitter telling them we are still in June even though the month of November is almost rounding up.
This is indeed a show of disrespect to his fans.
