Scarcity Of Diesel Is Really Affecting Our Operations – MTN
Mobile Telecommunications of Nigeria (MTN) says the current scarcity of diesel being experienced across the country is affecting its operations.
This is contained in Short Message Service (SMS) sent to its subscribers, informing them that they might experience ‘’degraded service’’
due to the scarcity.
‘’Dear customer, due to the diesel scarcity nationwide, you may experience degraded services,’’ MTN said.
The message, however, said the company was working hard to tackle the problem and solicited for the understanding of its subscribers.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some MTN subscribers in Port Harcourt found it difficult to call their friends and relations
between 5a.m and 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, commuters in Port Harcourt city and its environs are paying through their nose to get to their place of work and businesses.
They pay at least N100 as transport fare for short distances as against the former fare of N50.
A bus driver, who spoke to NAN on condition of anonymity, said he bought a litre of fuel for N250 as against the official pump price of N87.
NAN reports that the situation had adversely affected socio–economic activities in the metropolis. (NAN)
