NABTEB Releases May/June 2015 Results

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), on Thursday, announced the release of the May/June 2015 National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations that were conducted between May and June, 2015.

The Registrar and Chief Executive of NABTEB, Dr Olatunde Aworanti, who announced the release of the results at a news conference at the national headquarters of the examination body in Benin, Edo State, stated that 76,821 candidates enrolled for the examinations nationwide in five trades, namely engineering, construction, miscellaneous business and general education.


Aworanti disclosed that out of the 75,468 candidates that sat for the examinations, 15,848, representing 21 per cent, sat for engineering trades; 6,849 representing 9.08 per cent, sat for construction trades; 1,710 representing 2.27 per cent, for miscellaneous trades and 16,818 representing 22.18 for business trades.


He further disclosed that 40,82 candidates representing 54.09 percent, scored five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics, while, 53,016 candidates representing 70.25 per cent, had five credits and above, with or without English Language and Mathematics.


He decried the lukewarm attitude of the Nigerian public towards Technical Vocational and Educational Training (TVET), suggesting aggressive sensitization be adopted as model for sustaining development through advanced strategy.


He called for the establishment of federal and state Technical Colleges across the 774 local government areas in the country as proposed by the National Council on Education to develop skills and vocational education.
