Jigawa Set To Establish 280 Hospitals In Its State

Jigawa State government has announced its plan to establish at least one health facility at every political ward across the 27 local government areas of the state.


The state governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar revealed this in an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP.


He said the initiative is part of his government’s policy to ensure accessible and qualitative basic healthcare services to all people of the state.


Governor Badaru noted that his government has accorded special priority to healthcare service delivery with a view to curving the high rate of maternal child death indices, checkmate all other preventable diseases and any avoidable death.


According to him, his government has also established two additional specialist hospitals at Hadeji and Kazaure, and upgraded about seven hospitals to general hospital for more advance service.


He added that the government has established new additional school for health and midwifery in Hadejia for the training of required manpower to manage the facilities.


Governor Badaru added that the state government is looking at the possibilities of signing contract agreement with health expatriates from Korea and other parts of the world to fill the shortage of manpower the state within
