Hector Bellerin; Arsenal defender out for 4 weeks

Arsenal manager, Arsenal Wenger has confirmed that defender Hector Bellerin is out for four weeks with an ankle injury.

Bellerin suffered the injury during their Premier League clash with Tottenham from a challenge with Danny Rose on Sunday, November 6.


The right-back withdrew from the Spain -21 squad during the international and returned to Arsenal to recover from the injury.

It was thought that the Spaniard will be able to recover in time for their Saturday, November 19 Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Ahead of the clash, Wenger has confirmed that the 21-year-old will be out for upto a month.

“Hector is out for four weeks, he was injured in the last 10 seconds against Spurs with a strong tackle from Danny Rose,” Wenger said in the press conference ahead of the trip to Old Trafford. Aside from the trip to Manchester United, the right-back will also miss Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain, and games against Bournemouth, Southampton, West Ham, Basle, Stoke and Everton.

In other injury news, Santi Cazorla is yet to recover from the Achilles injury he suffered in the Champions League victory over Ludogorets on October 19.

While the fitness of star forward Alexis Sanchez will be assessed ahead of the clash.
