Full Tutorial On How To Draw a Piece of Chocolate Cake in Photoshop
STEP 1: New File
Open Photoshop and set up a new
document. Use the following settings;
Dimensions: 800×700 px, Resolution:
72dpi, Color Mode RGB color, White
Background.
STEP 2
Create a new layer set, and name it Cake
( Layer > New > New Layer Set). Then,
create a new layer inside the Cake layer
set.
STEP 3
Select the Pen Tool. In the Options bar,
activate paths. Make the path shape
shown below for the front side of the cake
on the new layer inside the Cake layer set..
Use the Fill Path settings below. Then
delete the path once you have the shape.
STEP 4
Add an Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Gradient
Overlay, and Pattern Overlay styles to the
front side of the cake shape layer. Use the
settings provided on the step image below.

STEP 5
Create a new layer, then use the Pen Tool
to create the top shape of the cake with
#5C3725 color shade.
STEP 6
Add a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Inner
Glow, and Pattern Overlay styles to the top
shape of the cake layer. Use the settings
provided on the step image below.
STEP 7
Select the Ellipse Tool. In the Options bar,
select Fill Pixels and check Anti-aliased. In
a new layer, draw a bunch of small ellipses
with #DDB88E color shade on the cake
design for extra textures.
STEP 8
In the Layers Window, set the small
ellipses layer's blending mode to Soft Light
at 15% opacity level. Then add a Gradient
Overlay styles, use the settings provided
on the step image below.
STEP 9
Take your time and add more extra
textures on the cake. The more details the
better.
STEP 10: FINAL
Create a new layer behind the cake shape
layers. Then use a large black brush to
create the simple shadow.
