Fear grips Ekiti community over dead body found in drainage

Residents of Ojido area of Ado-Ekiti are presently living in perpetual fear over the lifeless body of a young man found in a drainage Tuesday morning.
The incident made shop owners and market women around the area to remain at home even at 10am when our correspondent got to the scene. Several shops remained shut as people stood around discussing the issue.

Several okada riders besieged the area where the lifeless body was found just as many residents kept sealed lips over the incident.


Reports has it that the young man had both legs and hand amputated and packed inside a sack bag. He was said to be stabbed on the neck and the remaining body dumped inside a drainage without both legs and hands, directly opposite Ojido market.

According to an okada rider who claimed anonymity, the victim was wearing earrings and well dressed. He suspect the victim might be a member of a cult gang or must have been killed by some other rival group.

The sack bag containing both legs and hands of the victim was said to be placed very close to his body all drenched in blood.

He said the incident might have happened in the midnight of Tuesday and the victim must have been killed elsewhere before they dumped his body and other parts around the area.


The body of the victim was said to have been taken away by the police.
