Chelsea Officially Qualify For Next Season’s Champions League

Chelsea’s place in next season’s UEFA Champions League has been officially confirmed, following their 3-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

All three goals came in the second half, as the hosts contained Antonio Conte’s men in the first 45 minutes.

Pedro Rodriguez curled in an exquisite opener, before Gary Cahill and Willian added more goals, to take the Blues seven points clear at the top, ahead of the North London Derby

The Premier League leaders did not play any European football in the last year, after they finished 10th in the league, only a year after winning the title.

Qualification is financially important for Europe’s top clubs and Chelsea will compete for a share of the €1.3billion prize fund for clubs.

They are the fifth club in Europe to qualify for the Champions League group stage – with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and FC Basel already confirmed.
