Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, has been declared the winner of the presidential election held last Saturday in Gombe State.
Buhari polled a total of 361,245 voters to beat the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, who had a total of 96,873 votes.

Professor Saminu Abdulrahman Ibrahim of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, announced the results on Monday.
A breakdown of the results shows that APC candidate won in eight out of the 11 local government areas in the state.
Prof. Ibrahim said that there 1,110,105 were registered to vote in the election while 460,599 valid votes were recorded at the end of voting.
A total of 12,845 invalid votes were rejected
