Nigerian cleric Prophet Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has shared his position on tithing, stating that members of his church do not pay tithes to him.
The controversial preacher explained that his primary responsibility is to teach people about God and demonstrate His power rather than collect tithes from church members.
According to Odumeje, tithing is a personal matter between an individual and God and should not be treated as a compulsory obligation.
“I don’t collect tithe in my church, Nobody pays tithe to me. My own is to teach and show you the practical power of God. Tithe is not compulsory, it’s a personal thing between you and God,” he said.
His statement has drawn attention to the ongoing conversations surrounding tithing in Christian communities, with different religious leaders and believers holding varying views on whether it should be mandatory for Christians.
