FUNAAB SUG Issues Security Update On Campus Access And Gate Hours

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has issued a Security Update on Campus Access and Gate Hours for all students.

The update which is with reference number REF: FUNAABSU-PR 022 and dated 20th Of September, 2026 was signed by Comr. Timzy, President and Comr. Ovipour, Public Relations Officer, under the Team Heart led administration.

According to the Union, the Students' Union Government wishes to remind all Fabulous FUNAABites of the following campus access and security measures which all students must adhere to:

1. Vehicle Gate Tags: The Union stated that the use of Vehicle Gate Tags commences Monday, 21st September, 2026. Students will be issued Dark Blue Tags at the main gate. The tags will be collected upon entry and returned upon exit. The Union warned that a N2,000 fine applies to any lost or damaged tag.

2. Student ID Card: The Union added that students riding personal motorcycles into the campus are required to have their valid Student ID Card available and present it at the gate when required.

3. Campus Gate Hours: The Union disclosed that the University gates open by 6:00 AM and are locked by 10:00 PM. Students who need to exit the campus are advised to do so before 10:00 PM.

4. Movement of Valuable Items: The Union stated that students taking valuable items out of the campus are required to have a properly completed and signed gate pass, alongside proof of ownership or appropriate authorisation where necessary.

The Union therefore advised all students to plan their movements accordingly and cooperate with security personnel at the access points. The Students' Union Government remains committed to keeping all FUNAABites informed and working with the University towards a safer campus.
