The University of Uyo (Uniuyo), through its Student Affairs Division, has released the official voter verification guidelines for the 2025/2026 Students' Union Government (SUG) elections.

According to the notice, all eligible students are required to undergo physical voter verification at designated verification centres on their respective campuses before they can participate in the election.

The verification exercise will hold daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students are expected to present a valid means of identification, including a National Identification Number (NIN) Card or Slip, Permanent Voter's Card (PVC), or International Passport.

The verification schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, 29 June 2026 (Main Campus): Five Arm Lecture Pavilion (Opposite Faculty of Agriculture), Faculty of Engineering (GD 4), and Multipurpose Hall.

  • Tuesday, 30 June 2026 (Main Campus): Five Arm Lecture Pavilion (Opposite Faculty of Agriculture), Faculty of Engineering (GD 4), and Multipurpose Hall.

  • Wednesday, 1 July 2026: Town Campus – New Education Block and Onyema Ugochukwu Hall; Annex Campus – PTDF ICT Centre.

  • Thursday, 2 July 2026: Town Campus – Onyema Ugochukwu Hall; Annex Campus – PTDF ICT Centre; NDDC Medical Hostel – NDDC Medical Hostel.

The university also reminded students that the registration code on their Voter Registration Certificate will be required during the verification process. In addition, a unique Voting PIN will be sent privately to each verified voter on Election Day.

The Student Affairs Division emphasized that voter verification is mandatory, warning that students who fail to complete the exercise will not be eligible to vote in the 2025/2026 Students' Union Government elections.

Students are therefore advised to verify their voter status within the scheduled dates and at their designated centres to avoid being disenfranchised.
