ADSU Promotes Three Professors and Six Associate Professors
The Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi, Professor Augustine Clement, has announced the promotion of nine academic staff members following the successful completion of external assessment exercises.
The announcement was made at the 134th meeting of the University Senate held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Senate Chamber of the institution.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, three members of staff were promoted to the rank of Professor, while six others were elevated to the rank of Associate Professor (Reader).
Those promoted to the rank of Professor are:
Dr. Stephen Aduwamai Lagu – LinguisticsDr. Zainab Buba Mshelia – Ecology
Dr. Donald Zira John – Numerical Analysis
The academic staff promoted to the rank of Associate Professor (Reader) include:
Dr. Asiyina Elihu – Parasitology and Public Health
Dr. Mauda Ahmed – Taxation
Dr. Lucky Benson – Public Policy and Governance
Dr. Thandime Apollos Garba – Fish Breeding and Genetics
Dr. Yusufu Gambo – Applied Artificial Intelligence
Dr. Denis Basila – Accounting
While congratulating the newly promoted academics, Professor Clement charged them to be more committed to their duties and to engage in impactful research that would contribute to national development and enhance the global ranking of the university.
