Police Ban Protests, Rallies In Bayelsa State As Election Results Are To Be Announced Today

The Nigeria Police Force have banned any form of procession, rally, protest or demonstration throughout Bayelsa state as INEC prepares to announce the winner of the Saturday December 5th governorship election in the state.


According to a statement released this morning by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hashimu Argungu, the Police said intelligence report available to them suggests that residents of the state who may not be happy with the results of the election were planning to foment trouble in the form of illegitimate rallies.
