Wizkid Makes History as First African Artist to Surpass 20 Billion Global Streams

Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Wizkid has made history by becoming the first African artist to exceed 20 billion audio-on-demand streams worldwide.

According to Chart Masters, a global music data platform, the combined streams of Wizkid’s lead and featured songs have now crossed this impressive milestone across various platforms.

One of Wizkid’s most streamed tracks is his feature on Drake’s global hit “One Dance,” which also features British singer Kyla. The song alone has surpassed 3.6 billion streams on Spotify and holds a Guinness World Record as the first track to reach one billion streams on the platform.

Wizkid also made history previously by becoming the first African artist to earn the Brit Billion Award for surpassing one billion audio-on-demand streams in the UK.
