EPL: Michael Owen reacts to Trossard’s red card in Arsenal clash against Man City
Former Manchester United and Liverpool man, Michael Owen has blamed Arsenal attacking midfielder, Leandro Trosard for his red card in the first half of the Gunners’ clash with Manchester City at the Etihad.
Manchester City are home to the Gunners in the Premier League top-of-the-table clash.
The Cityzens took the lead through Erling Haaland but Arsenal responded through new signings, Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhães.
Trosard was shown a yellow card in the 15th minute for delaying to restart the game and a second yellow in stoppage time for kicking the ball away after the referee’s whistle.
Speaking on Premier League Production at half-time, Owen said, “That’s the law, it is a yellow card, everyone knows the law now and it’s consistent with what referees have been doing this season.
“So I don’t think he has much of a complaint, despite Mikel Arteta being furious about it.”
