Real Madrid increase salaries of Bellingham, Vinicius to avoid tension with Mbappe
Real Madrid have awarded Jude Bellingham a big pay rise to bring his annual salary level with Kylian Mbappe, according to OK Diario.
Mbappe was signed as a free agent during the summer after he left Paris Saint-Germain and was placed on a base wage of €15million (£12.6m).
This made the Frenchman the LaLiga club’s highest earner ahead of Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.
Before Mbappe joined, Bellingham and Vinicius were the top earners at the Bernabeu, taking home a staggering €10m (£8.4m) per season.
However, it is believed the €5m (£4.2m) difference in salary in favour of Mbappe could have led to tension in the dressing room.
Madrid president, Florentino Perez, has now decided to bring the three players’ wages in line with each other at €15m (£12.6m).
This has seen Bellingham and Vinicius’ wages increased by €5m (£4.2m).
