Police arrest suspect with 7 pump action shotguns, 1000 bullets

The Nigeria Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, said its operatives have arrested Ikechukwu Didi, a suspected gunrunner.

Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh made this known on Thursday while parading several suspected criminals arrested for various offences.

Igweh said the suspect, an indigene of Enugu State, was nabbed at the popular Dutse Junction area of the FCT.

On June 7, 2024, at about 2:00 pm, acting on credible intelligence, police operatives from the anti-car theft section, trailed and arrested one Ikechukwu Didi, 54, of Enugu State at Dutse Junction, who specialised in gunrunning.

“Seven automatic pump-action shotguns and 1000 rounds of live cartridges were recovered from him. The suspect will be arranged in court soon,” he said.
