Euro 2024: Rio Ferdinand names three teams that can win trophy

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has named the three teams that could go on to win the 2024 European Championship.

The tournament kicks off next Friday with hosts Germany taking on Scotland.

It is a 24-team competition and the final will be played on July 14.

In the last edition, Italy beat England on penalties in the Euro 2020 final.

Ferdinand believes England, France and Portugal are the favourites this time around.

Speaking with Portugal head coach, Roberto Martinez on the FIVE YouTube channel, Ferdinand said: “I want to wish you good luck for the tournament. I hope you do well and come second behind England, that would be great!

"I think it is you [Portugal], England and France – it will be one of those three. I don’t see no-one else.”
