EPL: Awoniyi ruled out of Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace

Nottingham Forest manager, Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed Taiwo Awoniyi will be sidelined after another injury setback.

Awoniyi only returned to action in February after missing out of action for around three months due to a groin problem.

The forward missed Forest’s 1-1 draw at Luton Town before the international break.

Santo said his absence will be a big blow for the Tricky Trees.
“It is a big blow for us because he (Awoniyi) had just come back (from injury). The importance of Taiwo is huge. He gives us another option,” Santo was quoted by NottinghamshireLive.

“I don’t know exactly how long he will be out for but I am positive we are going to see him again this season. He will definitely miss these two games.”

The 26-year-old has scored six goals in 17 league appearances for the Reds this season.
