‘Time to move on’ – Peseiro not interested in taking Super Eagles job again

Jose Peseiro says he is not interested in making a return to the Super Eagles as head coach of the three-time African champions.

Peseiro left the post following the expiration of his contract last month.

There were speculations he could be persuaded to make a return to the team.

The Portuguese however reiterated that his work with the team was complete, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to coach such talented players.

“As I said, my work with the Super Eagles is over. It was gratifying to coach players of such quality, with my staff we managed to do well in this sense, but the time has come to move on to another project,” Peseiro said in an interview with SPORTSITALIA..

The 63-year-old was in charge of the Super Eagles for 22 months.

He guided the team to second position at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
