Nicki Minaj has become a fixture at BET’s awards show over the last few year. Since her more humble beginnings as a Young Money caricature, she’s been sweeping the Best Female Rap Artist category and blessing the red carpet. This year, however, Nicki plans to skip the event.

Writing on her page hours ago, the Pinkprint rapper who will be performing at the first NBA Awards set to hold on June 26, said the NBA is the ONLY awards show she will be attending this month.

“My darlings, this is the ONLY award show I’ll be attending this month. Set your DVR’s. You won’t want to miss this PERFORMANCE,” she said.

The post led to a backlash from fans, who speculated this might have something to do with her beef with Remy Ma. After all, many people do not see her winning this year because Remy Ma killed rap this year. So its only fair Best Female Rap Artist goes to Remy, isn't it?
