Robert Lester Zamora, famously known as Bobby Zamora, is an English retired professional footballer who had an impressive career as a striker for various clubs, such as Bristol Rovers, Brighton & Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Fulham, and Queens Park Rangers.

Early Life And Education

Bobby Zamora was born on January 16, 1981, in Barking, London, England. Growing up, he was raised by his parents, with his mother named Linda. However, the media does not have information regarding his father’s name.

Additionally, he has a brother whose identity remains unknown to the public. As a young student, Bobby Zamora began his educational journey at Essex Junior School in Manor Park. Later, he continued his studies at Little Ilford School before eventually transferring to Barking Abbey Secondary School.

Career

Zamora caught the eye of Premier League teams with his impressive performance at Brighton and later signed with Tottenham Hotspur in 2003 for £3 million.

Unfortunately, he struggled to make an impact at Spurs and was loaned to West Ham United during the 2004–2005 season. However, Zamora’s loan spell at West Ham proved successful, as he scored 10 goals in 19 appearances, leading the club to sign him permanently for £4 million in 2005.

Zamora, who spent five years at West Ham, played a crucial role in the team’s successful promotion to the Premier League in 2005. Throughout his time at the club, he scored an impressive 60 goals in 130 appearances. Recognizing his outstanding performance, Zamora was honoured as West Ham’s Player of the Year in 2007.

Zamora joined Fulham in 2008 for a transfer fee of £6 million. Initially, he struggled to make an impact, but he scored an impressive 18 goals during the 2009–10 season.

This remarkable performance contributed to Fulham’s seventh-place finish in the Premier League and secured their qualification for the UEFA Europa League. Furthermore, Zamora’s outstanding form this season earned him a call-up to the England national team, marking his return after almost ten years.

Zamora’s goal-scoring prowess remained consistent for Fulham during the next two seasons. Furthermore, his contribution played a significant role in guiding the club to the final of the UEFA Europa League in 2010. Zamora also succeeded by winning the FA Cup alongside Fulham in 2009.

Zamora’s journey in professional football saw him move to Queens Park Rangers in January 2012 after a transfer fee of £6 million. However, injuries hindered his time at QPR, spanning over three and a half years.

Following his tenure at QPR, Zamora returned to Brighton & Hove Albion in 2015 and played for two additional seasons before retiring from the sport in 2016.
