Man Arrested Over Murder Of 20-yr-old Girlfriend In Ogun

A 29-year-old man, Jamiu Salihu, has been arrested over the murder of his 20-year-old girlfriend and university admission seeker, Temitope Elemide, in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun.

The State Police Spokesman, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the development to newsmen on Wednesday in Abeokuta.

Odutola described the incident as a murder case which was reported to the police on Sunday.

It was gathered that the victim was murdered on Sunday at her family residence in the Bosero community, Olodo, in the Odeda council area.

She was said to be preparing for the next Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, before the incident.

The police spokesperson explained that Elemide’s boyfriend had been arrested in connection with the murder.

“There was a suspected murder report on February 25, from Odeda that a lifeless body of Elemide was seen inside the room stabbed with a knife on her head and body.

“There is one Jamiu Salihu, 29-year-old boyfriend, who is suspected to have committed the heinous crime. He was (allegedly) seen coming out from the bush on the said day of the crime
,” she said.

Odutola said one knife, two iron rods, and one android techno phone were recovered as exhibits.

She added that the body of the victim had been deposited in the morgue.
