He started rapping at 13, inspired by artists like Sarkodie, Obrafour, and Lil Wayne. He attended St. Hubert Seminary Senior High School, where he participated in rap battles and freestyle sessions. He later enrolled at the University of Ghana, studying Business Administration.

Kweku Smoke’s career began in 2019 when he caught the attention of Sarkodie, who shared his freestyle video on Twitter and praised his talent.

He then released his debut EP, Big Shmoke, which featured songs such as “On Dem”, “Take Me Somewhere Happy”, and “Time No Dey”.

Controversy

Kweku Smoke has been involved in some controversies in his career. One of them was his feud with Shatta Wale, another Ghanaian artist. The feud started when Kweku Smoke accused Shatta Wale of stealing his song idea and beat.

He claimed that he had played the song for Shatta Wale in his studio, but Shatta Wale later released a similar song without his permission. He then called out Shatta Wale on social media and demanded an apology.

Shatta Wale denied the allegations and insulted Kweku Smoke and his manager. He also sent some thugs to attack Kweku Smoke and his manager and damage their car.

The incident was captured on video and went viral. Kweku Smoke then reported the matter to the police and sued Shatta Wale for assault and damage. The case was later settled out of court.

Another controversy was his beef with Kofi Mole, another Ghanaian rapper. The beef started when Kofi Mole released a song titled “Makoma“, which featured Sarkodie and Bosom Pyung.

Kweku Smoke felt that the song dissed him and his friend, Yaw Tog. He then released a song titled “Kwekuee“, directly responding to Kofi Mole.
