Serie A: Osimhen is tired, will get back in shape soon – Napoli boss, Calzona

Napoli caretaker coach Francesco Calzona believes Victor Osimhen will get back in top shape soon, Waploaded reports.

Osimhen scored for the second consecutive game in Napoli’s 1-1 draw with Cagliari on Sunday night.

The 25-year-old only returned to the club two weeks ago after spending around a month away on international duty.

The Nigerian scored in Calzona’s first game against Barcelona last week.

“He was only tired,” Calzona told DAZN via Football Italia, when asked about Osimhen’s performance.

“Victor is a fantastic guy. He scored two goals in two matches and will slowly get back in shape.

“Don’t forget he played at AFCON. Players are devastated when they return. He was tired also against Barcelona, but players always want to stay on the pitch.”

Osimhen has scored eight goals in 14 league appearances for Napoli this season.

He has also scored one goal in five appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
