62-year-old man, Girlfriend And Accomplice Arrested For Stealing Two Cars During Church Crusade in Edo (Photo)

Three suspected thieves have been arrested.

The three suspects, Augustine Ikponmwoba (62), Roland Ibizugbe (63) and Blessing Joseph (36) were arrested over alleged theft of two vehicles during a church crusade.

Parading the suspects alongside other suspected criminals, state’s Commissioner of Police CP), Funsho Adeboye, said they were arrested after tracking the phone that was stolen alongside the vehicles which one of the suspects gave to his girlfriend, Blessing Joseph, as a gift.

The CP said Mrs. Joy Mordi and Mr Peter E. Abiwo reported to the police that they parked their cars at the Garrick Memorial Ground to attend a crusade and that after closing from the crusade they discovered that their vehicles had been stolen, and that during investigation, the female suspect, Blessing Joseph, who was in possession of the phone left in Mordi’s vehicle, was arrested.

Adeboye further said that Blessing confessed that the phone was given to her by her man friend, Augustine Ikponmwoba.

"Ikponmwoba’s arrest led the police to Roland Ibizugbe who was also arrested. The suspects have confessed to the crime and would be charged to court.”
