I can’t lie – Osimhen speaks on leaving Napoli amid interest from two EPL clubs

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has ruled out any possibility of leaving the club this ongoing January transfer window amid speculation linking him with a move to Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Super Eagles attacker, however, admitted he would ‘definitely’ be open to the idea in the future.

Osimhen said he can’t lie because he has a good relationship with Napoli’s president.

The 25-year-old, who is currently on international duty with Nigeria at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, said he is ‘happy’ in Naples for the time being.

“I am happy with the president. I have a good relationship with him, I cannot lie, I have a seriously good relationship with him,” Osimhen told Sky Sports.

“He has been with me since I signed for the club in 2020.

“I have a good relationship with his family also. For me, it is always important to make sure there is nothing wrong, regardless of what has happened, with the relationship with him and his family.

“He has been the kind of president that has been supportive of me outside the pitch and of course I give my all trying to win the Scudetto for them.

“It is always important to have this sort of relationship, to be happy with the individual and the owner of the club.”

“Of course one day, definitely.

“But for now I have other plans in my career that I am looking forward to. When the time comes, everyone will know,” he added.
