EPL: Man Utd confirm first January window departure

Manchester United have confirmed that Sergio Reguilon has returned to Tottenham.

This comes after United exercised a break clause in the defender’s loan deal.

Reguilon joined United on Deadline Day in the summer, as cover for injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Shaw has since returned and Malacia is due back this month.

United’s exit from Europe and the EFL Cup is another factor in the decision as Reguilon’s game time will be further limited.

During his time at United, Reguilon made 12 appearances across various competitions.
