AFCON 2023: Chukwueze to arrive Super Eagles camp late

Samuel Chukwueze will now report late to the Super Eagles 2023 Africa Cup of Nations camp after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) granted a request from his Serie A club, AC Milan.

The Super Eagles will open camp for the competition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, January 2.

All the 25 players named on the final squad by head coach, Jose Peseiro are mandated to report to camp on the date.

According to popular Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the NFF has agreed to a request from AC Milan to have Chukwueze available for the Coppa Italia clash against Cagliari on January 2.

The winger will now report to the Super Eagles camp the following day.

Di Marzio also reported that the Algerian Football Federation turned down AC Milan’s request to also hold on to midfielder Ismael Bennacer for the game.
