EPL: I’d favour them over Liverpool – Carragher predicts team to win title

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has said he favours Arsenal to win the Premier League title ahead of his former club.

Carragher was speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast after both teams played out a 1-1 draw at Anfield on Saturday.

The Gunners took the lead through a Gabriel header, but were pegged back before half time by the hosts, when Mohamed Salah scored his 12th Premier League goal.

Carragher has now bemoaned the Reds’ lack of firepower in attack and admitted Mikel Arteta’s men are likelier to win the title.

He said: “I think I would favour Arsenal over Liverpool.

“When I look at that strength of the two centre-backs [William Saliba and Gabriel] and Declan Rice in midfield, they look really solid.

“Coming to Anfield, it was tough for them but they really didn’t give away too many chances. It was the same at Aston Villa, they were unfortunate to lose that.”
