Super Eagles can challenge for title at AFCON 2023 — Osimhen

Victor Osimhen has declared that the Super Eagles are ready to conquer the rest of Africa once again.

Osimhen and his teammates will be aiming for a fourth crown when hostilities start at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire next month.

The Super Eagles will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group A.

Having suffered a shocking ouster in the Round of 16 two years ago in Cameroon, the Napoli hitman insisted that the West Africans can challenge for the title this time around.

“We are ready and preparing very well,” Osimhen told CAF Media.

“The squad is in high spirits. We are raring to go and hope that we shall do well there.”

Jose Peseiro’s side will face Equatorial Guinea in their opening fixture at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on January 14, 2024.
