EPL: Ten Hag names only one goalkeeper better than Onana

Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag has named the goalkeeper better than Andre Onana in the Premier League.

According to him, only Liverpool’s Alisson Becker is better than Onana in England.

Ten Hag was defending Onana before the media, following an error-strewn display against Galatasaray in the Champions League, where he was at fault for all three goals United let in.

Onana is expected to keep his place against Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday night despite fresh scrutiny over his performance.

“Players always need trust. After Alisson (Becker), he is the best stopper in the league for preventing expected goals.

“So then you deserve to play. He has the potential, so we have to work on him so that he does it consistently. We will work with him and we will support him. The manager, coaches and players all support him,” Ten Hag said.
