Enyimba claim derby spoils against Heartland

Enyimba ended their barren run against Oriental rivals Heartland following a 1-0 victory at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Saturday.

It was Enyimba’s first victory against Heartland in eight years.

Stephen Chukwude scored the decisive goal nine minutes from time.

The forward became the first Enyimba player to score against Heartland since Peter Onyekachi netted the opener in a 1-1 draw in 2016.

Enyimba moved up to fifth position on the NPFL table following the win.

Heartland remain at the bottom of the table with six points from 10 games.
