One Dies As Truck Conveying Humans and Animals Crashes On Lagos-Ibadan Road

On Wednesday morning, a truck conveying humans and animals, crashed along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, killing one person.

The truck crashed around Sandcrate to Fidiwo at about 6am.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed that 15 male adults were involved in the crash.

“Seven persons were injured and one person was recorded dead from the lone crash,” said Florence Okpe, the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun.

According to Okpe, “One vehicle was involved with no registration number on it, a Daf truck conveying both passengers and animals.”

Okpe blamed the lone crash on a tyre burst while speeding, which she said led to loss of control.

The FRSC said the injured victims had been taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere for medical attention.

She added that “FRSC operatives are still managing the situation and traffic has been diverted to the other lane to remove the obstruction off the road.”
