Troops Eliminate Two Bandits In Kaduna, Recover Arms And Ammunition

Two bandits have been eliminated by Troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army and Operation Whirl Punch, during a clearance operation in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
 
Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 1 Division Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, November 12, 2023, said troops recovered one AK 47 rifle, three AK 47 rifle magazines, quantity five of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, and two locally made hand grenade.

“In continuation of the sustained operation against terrorists, bandits and other criminal elements in the North Western part of the Country, troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army and operation Whirl Punch carried out a clearance operation in the general area of Juji and Telele-Kaso in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Monday 13 November 2023,” the statement read.
 
"The bandits who opened fire on sighting the troops approaching their location were however overpowered by troops superior and overwhelming fire power thereby neutralizing two of the bandits while others fled in disarray.
 
"The troops recovered one AK 47 rifle, three AK 47 rifle magazines, quantity five of 7.62mm(special) ammunition, two locally made hand grenades, four handsets, two motorcycle bearings, spanners, screwdrivers and two bags.
 
“The General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch Major General Valentine Okoro has implored the general public to continue to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies with credible information to enhance the fight against terrorism, banditry and other criminal activities in the Division's Area of Responsibility.”
