OAU Lecturer Assaults Female Student For Refusing To Switch Off Her Phone During Lectures (Video)

A male lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in Osun state was seen in a viral video manhandling a female student after she refused to switch off her mobile phone in class.

In a viral video, the lecturer, Dr Ariyo of the Department of Electrical Engineering, could be heard asking her to switch off her phone but she refused

“You can’t be more than me” he said to her.

The female student refused to obey his directive. It was at this point that the lecturer got angry and forcefully took the phone from her and then pushed her.

Lere Olayinka, a former aide to ex-governor Ayo Fayose who shared the video online said the female student bled from the assault.

’This is a lecturer in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Dr. Ariyo, from the Department of Elect Engineering, assaulting a student in his class today.

The student is currently bleeding and his SAMSUNG phone damaged.''
