Nkwocha gets three-year ban for anti-doping violation

Nigerian athlete Grace Nkwocha has been handed a three-year ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for using prohibited substances.

The AIU announced the sanction on their official X handle.

Nkwocha was a member of the quartet that won gold for Nigeria in the 4x 100m at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

The athlete had been provisionally suspended in September 2022 after she failed a doping test conducted on her during the games.

The ban takes effect from August 3, 2022, until August 2, 2025.

Blessing Okagbare and Divine Oduduru are among the Nigerian athletes currently serving bans for anti-doping violations.
