EPL: 4 matches we could see shock results this weekend

This weekend’s round of Premier League matches begins at Villa Park, where Aston Villa welcome Brighton.

It is an exciting fixture to kickstart the weekend, as both teams were adjudged to have overperformed last season, qualifying for Europe in the process.

Arsenal will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to Bournemouth, while Manchester United play Crystal Palace for the second time within four days.

Which four games are we likely to see upsets?

1. Bournemouth vs Arsenal: The Gunners are one of the four teams that are still undefeated this season. But Mikel Arteta’s men have not been particularly playing well. They almost threw away the North London Derby last weekend. And with the injury crisis they are facing, don’t be surprised if they are shocked at the Vitality Stadium.

2. Wolves vs Man City: This is the first Premier League game Rodri will be missing as he serves a three-match ban for his red card against Nottingham Forest. Pep Guardiola’s men have won all their six games so far without being at their fluent best. It remains to be seen if they will drop points at the Molineux without their influential midfield anchor.

3. Fulham vs Chelsea: The Blues have not won a Premier League fixture throughout September and have scored no single goal. But they pulled off an unlikely 1-0 win over Brighton in the Carabao Cup in midweek. However, you struggle to see how they might pick up a win in the West London Derby under the lights on Monday night.

4. Man Utd vs Crystal Palace: Erik ten Hag’s men will be looking to defeat Palace for the second time this week. In the Carabao Cup third round fixture, Roy Hodgson rested some of his key players and fielded a few youngsters. This means United will face a stronger starting XI this time around.
