CAF Confederation Cup: Bendel Insurance crash out after defeat to RS Berkane

Bendel Insurance crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup following a 1-0 defeat to Morocco’s RS Berkane.

Youssef Zghoudi beat an offside trap early in the first half to score the only goal of the game.

Both teams battled to a 2-2 draw in the first leg two weeks ago at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

RS Berkane, who won the competition in 2022, proceeded to the group stage 3-2 on aggregate.

Nigeria’s other representative in the competition, Rivers United will entertain Burkina Faso’s Etoile Filante on Sunday.

The fixture is slated for the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

The Port Harcourt club were held to a 0-0 by the Burkinabes in the first leg.
