EPL: Souness names team to challenge Man City for title

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has named Jurgen Klopp’s side as the team to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.

Souness insisted that Liverpool, which finished outside of the Premier League top four last season, will finish first or second this season.

Manchester City won the Premier League title last season ahead of Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle, and Liverpool.

In his column for the Mail Online, Souness wrote: “I will make a bold statement about the Premier League race, which resumes today: Liverpool will finish first or second this season.

“I see a stronger Liverpool. Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai appear to understand the demands of playing for the club.

“Our football needs a challenge to Manchester City’s dominance, and Liverpool can provide it. They are the biggest threat to Pep Guardiola winning four titles on the trot.”
