Foundation advocates for tech-driven equity, sustainability

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Karim Adeyemi Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to empowering young people and fostering sustainable community development through education, football, and general empowerment, has advocated the need for tech-driven equity and sustainability.

KAF’s Programme Manager, Jumoke Idowu, disclosed while speaking with our correspondent on Friday in Lagos, adding that the foundation is committed to using technology to create a more equitable and sustainable future.

She highlighted KAF’s scholarship initiative, which provides financial assistance to students from underserved communities, and its Adeyemi Football Club, which uses technology to train and develop young footballers.

Jumoke also made reference to the recently held Ibadan technology exposition as an opportunity to highlight the nexus between technology and development, describing it as a great opportunity for the foundation to connect with the tech community in Ibadan and share its vision for using technology to create a more equitable and sustainable future.

“At KAF, we believe that sports technology has the potential to revolutionize the industry and create new opportunities for young people.

“We seek to support ventures in sports technology that can turn talents into an economy. From performance apps to tracking apps, geospatial potential mapping, and more, our goal is to bring talent to markets, opportunities, coaches, facilities, and resources, creating a place of acceleration and igniting an economy,” she said.

Jumoke, who also spoke about KAF’s ongoing project at Odo-osun, a community in Ibadan with limited access to clean water and sanitation, disclosed the foundation is working to construct a borehole and public toilets in the community, which will benefit more than 16,000 residents.
